Commercial steel gas lines

Our Commercial Gas engineers Work on all gas pipes

We work on Commercial natural gas and commercial LPG and can arrange for gas connections and gas meter replacements and installations, we can liaise to have bulk LPG tanks installed for more remote properties.

We use MDPE gas pipe for most jobs but hold in stock commercial sizes of Tracpipe and large commercial gas press fittings. We regularly provide gas line connections for warehouses, offices, schools and churches.

New commercial gas installations underground

We work with a moling and grounds working company to ensure that minimal time is taken and the site is kept as clean as possible, the grounds workers will take care to re-establish after any trenches and usually after an installation there is little to no evidence that we were ever there.

Underground installations will almost always be done in MDPE pipe as it is far more cost effective than Tracpipe for long runs, we may use Tracpipe for certain types of work if it for instance needs to transition between above and below ground.

Many installations we undertake are in residential properties but due to the length of the gas pipe the volume is over the domestic limit, we have a guide here to help work out if you need a domestic gas engineer or a commercial gas engineer.

We install pipe sizes from 15mm copper all the way up to 180mm MDPE and hold the highest level of gas qualification to allow us to calculate and undertake any and all gas pipe installations.

Internal above ground installations

Most commercial buildings require threaded steel pipe for the gas supplies, we can specify and install any size of gas pipe for all applications. We may suggest occasionally that copper press gas is a more cost effective solution if the installation space is not high risk. Copper press fittings are of course rated for the pressure and containment of natural gas and LPG.

Commercial testing and purging

Following a commercial gas installation, a decommissioning of a line or when a gas line has been re-established a test and purge must be undertaken, the process varies depending on volume but broadly requires a timed test at varying pressures and a purge to either air or gas.

We hold all equipment to perform commercial testing and purging either to or from gas, the purge may be to atmosphere or flared in case of a built up area or equipment that poses a risk.
